About Nina

Nina Bussink is a Swiss-born, Welsh emerging performance artist. Taking to the stage whenever and wherever she could, by the time she was 16, she had already played multiple major roles in a local pantomime and directed her first short documentary. In March, 2022, Nina trained with a local film school for 6 months where she wrote and produced her documentary Gerddi Bro Ddyfi Gardens a project in aid of a local community garden with the aim to raise enough funds for the project to continue running.

Following her studies in performing arts at Shrewsbury Colleges Group, she moved to Manchester where, in September 2022, Nina undertook an undergraduate degree in Theatre and Performance at the Arden School of Theatre.

Since her move to Manchester, she has involved myself in a number of theatre projects in the city; most recently she performed alongside a group of women from around Greater Manchester in support of Jennifer Jackson’s ‘WRESTLE LADS WRESTLE’ at HOME Theatre MCR. The performance brings together a mix of theatre, dance, judo and pro-wrestling, opening the stage to invite women from all backgrounds together to empower and support each other.

In October 2024, Nina worked in collaboration with Ugly Bucket Theatre Company as part of a project with the Arden School of Theatre. Working alongside Ugly Bucket, the ensemble devised an hour long captivating, high-energy performance exploring the music, culture and ideology of punk – with one important question, is punk dead?
